We are pleased to share some of our latest projects in our ongoing mission to enhance affordable housing.

Claremont Park


Goldstein Hall represented Heritage Affordable Communities in the acquisition and financing of Claremont Park, preserving 101 affordable units in the Bronx. Supported by HPD and HDC, the project extended a 420-c abatement and secured long-term affordability through key regulatory and operational improvements.

New Penn Development


Goldstein Hall represented the Borrower in a joint venture led by PM Architecture and Rajoy Management to develop 10 sustainable, affordable buildings on 11 city-owned lots in East New York. The project, awarded under HPD's NHOP & NCP RFQ, delivers 73 new residential units and supports neighborhood revitalization.

Las Raices


Goldstein Hall served as lead counsel for Las Raices, an East Harlem affordable housing project by Ascendant Neighborhood Developemnt and MDG Design and Construction, delivering 78 income-restricted apartments and 10,000 sq. ft. of community space.

Peter Jay Sharp Residence


Goldstein Hall represented The Doe Fund in restructuring the Peter Jay Sharp Residence, a pioneering permanent supportive housing project in East Harlem. The residence offers 74 private studio units with services for formerly homeless individuals.

TPT Longfellow Marmion


Goldstein Hall proudly served as Counsel for both the Borrower and Developer for the $40.1 million rehabilitation of two Bronx buildings, delivering 52 affordable apartments and three commercial spaces. The project was led by Bronx Pro Group and JGV Management.

NYC’s First-Ever Double Leasehold Condo Deal Completed


Goldstein Hall represented 1880 Boston Road, LLC in creating two leasehold condominiums within a three-unit fee condo structure, marking the first double leasehold condo in NYC. This innovative setup enabled non-profit tenants to qualify for 420-a tax exemptions despite the fee owner being an LLC. The firm coordinated with all parties involved, prepared condo documents, reviewed floor plans, and assisted in securing the tax exemptions.

The 8th Annual Hudson Valley Affordable Housing Summit

On May 15, 2025, Goldstein Hall's Partner Jason Labate spoke at the 8th Annual Hudson Valley Affordable Housing Summit, hosted by the Land Use Law Center and Housing Action Council. This year’s theme, “Building the Future,” focused on innovative approaches to affordable housing. Jason led a discussion on legal challenges surrounding local resident preferences and their connection to the Fair Housing Act.


26th Annual NYSAFAH Conference

On May 15, 2025, Goldstein Hall's Partner Brian Hsu participated as a panelist at the 26th Annual New York State Affordable Housing Conference (NYSAFAH) during a session titled "Support for Non-Profit & Emerging Developers."


CSH - Supporting Housing Institute of New York

On February 20, 2025, Brian Hsu served as a guest presenter for the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) during a session of the Supportive Housing Institute. Brian led a presentation on Ownership & JV Partnerships, sharing insights on forming successful partnerships, structuring joint ventures, and managing key financial and legal considerations.

Know Your Rights Webinar 

On March 4, 2025, Goldstein Hall hosted an informative webinar on immigration enforcement and housing stability. The session covered tenant's legal rights, landlords' responsibilities, and strategies for navigating the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The panel included David Goldstein, Ellen Clemot, Meghan Boland, and Betty Huang.
