Continuation of Suspension
Based upon Governor Pritzker’s announcement to extend his Stay-at-Home Order through the end of May, we will be extending the closure of all Palatine Park District facilities through May 31.
Golf Course Opening May 1
The District is excited to open Palatine Hills Golf Course to the public on Friday, May 1. With the addition of strict regulations, some outdoor recreational activities have been approved by the Governor's office. This amendment includes golf courses. No walk-ins will be permitted, all golfers must make reservations via phone or the Palatine Hills Golf Course website.
Virtual Programming Begins May 4
Palatine's Recreation Department is launching a virtual programming catalog that will include classes for all ages. The Stay & Play Virtual Programming catalog will go live on Friday, May 1 and will be available on Palatine Park District's website and social platforms. Registration will start immediately as classes are scheduled to start Monday, May 4. Classes will be held via a virtual platform in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Summer Camp Delayed Start
In an effort to protect our employees, patrons and community members, Day, Sports, and Kids Camps at Palatine Park District have been delayed until Monday, July 6. Please watch for an email from Park District staff for further information. Specialty Camp schedules have yet to be determined.
Please be patient as our registration team processes refunds and credits for previously scheduled camp dates. If you are on a payment plan, the payment schedule will not start until our operations resume. When we have more details on when that date will be, we will post a schedule as soon as possible.
Refunds Due to Suspension of Operations
As we prepare for another month of practicing good measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we would like to inform you how refunds/credits will be processed for any missed or canceled programs.

  • If your program began prior to March 14, 2020, you will be issued a household credit for all missed classes during the time of suspended operations. These credits will be issued once we are able to determine how many classes will need to be credited.

  • If your program has been canceled completely, you will be issued a full refund, back to your original form of payment. If you paid by cash or check, a household credit will be put onto your household account. If you would prefer a check, please contact Customer Service Manager Christine Hubka at chubka@palatineparks.org. Please understand that refund checks will be delayed till after we resume regular business.
Things Will Be Different
A Message From Our Executive Director
I wanted to reach out and let you know that myself and the entire Park District staff is eagerly awaiting the day we can resume operations. Until then, we must focus on staying healthy, responsible, and optimistic. While there is some great news mentioned above, we also recognize that as we move forward things will be different.
We know things will not feel normal for the foreseeable future, so we are working diligently to make adapting to these changes easier. Things will need to be different, but that doesn't mean it needs to be hard.
If we make smart choices now, we are confident we will return sooner rather than later. When that time comes and we can bring people together again at the Park District, we will be committed to follow and strictly adhere to the science and recommendations from our public health officials.
The Park District cannot wait until we can start hosting events and providing recreational programming for all, but we are dedicated to waiting until it is safe to do so.

We will see you soon!
Mike Clark
