IAGA and Alliance Working Together to Deliver Education

This Webinar Series is open to anyone interested in participating!

The International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) has announced a partnership with the National Alliance for Accessible Golf (Alliance) to provide IAGA member associations and the golf facilities they serve with educational resources to facilitate the growth of adaptive golf.

To kick off this important golf industry initiative, the IAGA and the Alliance will conduct a series of educational webinars beginning on August 15, to introduce IAGA members and interested golf facility owners, leadership and staff to the National Alliance Education Hub. The webinars will culminate with in-person education at the IAGA Annual Conference.

According to Bill Walker, Executive Director of the IAGA, “The Golf Access and Inclusion Network® (GAIN) and the Alliance Education Hub deliver a no-cost benefit to our member associations. This platform will be a valuable tool as more and more of our members are becoming involved with or organizing adaptive golf events and programming”. Read More

The Human Impact of Website Inaccessibility

By Denise Pane, CEO & Founder, Access Design Studio - The digital world is an ecosystem that shapes, reflects, and often amplifies the organization of our everyday lives. But for many, this essential world remains partially or entirely inaccessible, creating barriers where there should be connections. When websites fail to be accessible, they enforce isolation over inclusion, hinder independence, and can significantly impact the quality of life for people with disabilities. This blog post isn’t about code, regulations, or checklists. It’s about understanding the human impact of website accessibility and realizing the urgency to advocate and implement change.

Imagine planning your day without the use of the web. Or, imagine it taking 5 times as long to use every website you use each day. Read More

A Journey Worth Celebrating

We've had the chance to get to know Josh Basile and his love for the game of golf here at the Alliance ... a passion that further developed after his injury outlined in his story below. Josh is an advocate who shows us the power of inclusion.

By Josh Basile - It was 20 years ago today when I heard a loud crunch reverberate from my neck and then spread throughout my body. On August 1, 2004, a wave slammed me headfirst against the ocean floor changing my life forever. As I lay motionless in the critical care unit with a ventilator helping me to breathe, I questioned what my future would hold.

Will I ever walk again? Will I finish school? Will I have a career? Will I play golf again? Will I fall in love? Will I become a Dad? Read More
