By Dave Barton, PGA - The Alliance would like to send our thanks to the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) for your commitment to driving awareness to your Members and their member courses related to how they can positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities by drawing them into the game of golf.

The opportunity from Executive Director Bill Walker to deliver a series of webinars related to the ADA and the game of golf as a lead up to the annual conference was greatly appreciated. The webinars culminated in a general session panel with a great audience in Monterey, CA, Nov 4, 2024, alongside moderator Matt Vanderpool, CEO, Georgia State Golf Association, Maria Machi, Asst Executive Director, Golf Association of Philadelphia and Colton Dean, Manager, Championships, USGA.

A special thanks to IAGA Community Operations Manager, Santana Shipley for her coordination and support of the webinars and panel participation and Jessica Durbin, Partnerships, who helped us start the week off right at Poppy Hills! We're very appreciative.

We look forward to connecting at these upcoming industry events!

Bringing People into the Game

The Alliance was privileged to receive an invitation from Tim Wilkes, Brand Manager of PGA TOUR Superstores as they brought in club fitters from across the country to participate in their recently developed "Adaptive Golf Specialist" training program at their headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

Their efforts, along with PING Master Golf Fitter Bryan Rourke to educate fitters qualified to work with golfers with disabilities will increase the access these golfers have to the equipment they need to play golf and will grow the game. Thank you!

Palm Harbor, FL - In wire-to-wire fashion, it was Eli Villanueva and Amanda Cunha who clinched victory at the 2nd Florida Adaptive Open. This win gives Villanueva consecutive titles, making him the only male competitor to ever win the Men's Overall Division in the event's history.

Cunha, a Hawaii native who lost her vision during her junior year of high school, delivered two impressive rounds with scores of 76-74 (150), enough to outlast the field by three strokes. Read More
