A Heartwarming CASA Adoption Story

We are thrilled to share the joyful news of a recent adoption made possible by the unwavering dedication of a CASA volunteer and the strength of our advocacy team.

This case began several years ago, with the original goal being reunification. However, both the foster parent and CASA volunteer had deep concerns about this direction due to several troubling red flags. Despite multiple roadblocks, our team persisted—engaging in countless conversations with the child welfare agency, providing detailed and objective reports to the court, and engaging in legal advocacy to protect the child’s best interest.

Earlier this year, a best interest trial was held, and thanks to the relentless work of the CASA volunteer and the support of our staff, the goal of the case was changed. The Judge ruled in favor of adoption, giving this child the chance to grow up in a safe, permanent, and loving home.

The foster mother, who had poured her heart into caring for this little girl, was overcome with emotion when she heard the news. What made the moment even more touching was a small but powerful detail included in a CASA court report: the child's bedroom would be rainbow-themed. The Judge referenced that detail during the hearing, a moment that deeply moved the foster mom—especially because she had been considering postponing the room’s remodel, unsure of what the future would hold.

So inspired by the outcome and the impact of the CASA volunteer, the foster mother has now taken a powerful next step—she is currently in training to become a CASA volunteer herself! This case is a shining example of what happens when advocacy, persistence, and compassion come together.

Thank You for Making our 2nd annual Countryside Clays for Kids a Success!

On May 18, 2025, CASA Kane County hosted our 2nd Annual Countryside Clays for Kids at the St. Charles Sportsmen’s Club—and what an incredible day it was!

Thanks to our generous sponsors, participants, and volunteers, the event was a huge success. From the exciting sporting clays course to the silent auction, raffles, and lunch, every moment helped raise awareness and critical funds for the children we serve through the CASA mission.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our community. Your involvement helps ensure that every child in the abuse and neglect court system has a dedicated advocate by their side.

We can’t wait to see you again next year!

Have a few hours to spare each month? You can change a child’s story! CASA Kane County is looking for volunteers to speak up for children in foster care. No experience needed—just a big heart and a commitment to making a difference. Curious? Come to the Open House to learn more!

Our latest Annual Report is now available to anyone for review! Our goal is to steward the resources of our donors and maximize the impact of that generosity. We are so grateful for all you do!

Community Advisory Council in Action!

CASA Kane County is leading a collaborative network of key leaders and organizations throughout Kane County, through a new Community-Based Advisory Council. The Council’s overall goal is to reduce the number of children in foster care, by providing prevention, early intervention, and resources at the earliest possible stage - before abuse, neglect or removal from the home occurs.
