Dear Residents,

I am pleased to announce that Kip Delzell will be joining Herons Glen as our new Head Golf Professional.

Following an extensive search and interview process, Kip distinguished himself through his experience, professionalism, and approach to member service and golf operations.

Kip brings a strong background in golf operations, including tournament administration, merchandising, member programming, staff leadership, and player development. He is also experienced with the technology that is important to our operation, including Chelsea and Golf Genius.



In addition to speaking with Kip on several occasions, members of our Golf Shop staff had an opportunity to meet with him independently and came away very impressed. I also spoke with Dr. Tara McKenna, Director of the PGA Golf Management Program at Florida Gulf Coast University, who spoke very highly of Kip and his experience in the program.

Kip and I will be meeting this week to continue the onboarding process and finalize his start date. We are excited to welcome him to Herons Glen, and I look forward to giving everyone an opportunity to meet him once he is officially on board.

Golf Membership Update

I also want to address questions that have arisen following the suspension of golf operations at Magnolia Landing and clarify what, if any, impact this may have on golf membership at Herons Glen.

The suspension of operations at Magnolia Landing does not mean that its members will automatically become golf members at Herons Glen. Our priority is to carefully manage our golf membership and ensure that we continue to provide appropriate course access and an enjoyable golf experience for our existing members.

Based on this year’s membership levels, we previously made the decision to freeze the acceptance of additional non-resident golf memberships. That decision remains in effect.

As you know, our annual golf membership year begins October 1^st. By early to mid-October, after the renewal process is substantially complete, we should have a much clearer picture of the number of golfers participating in the upcoming season and whether we have the capacity to accept any additional non-resident memberships.

We currently have a waiting list for non-resident golf memberships. If we determine that additional memberships can be accommodated, individuals on the waiting list will be contacted in the order their requests were received. The circumstances at Magnolia Landing will not result in individuals bypassing our existing waiting list or receiving preferential access to membership.

We recognize the importance of carefully managing the number of golfers utilizing the course, particularly during our busiest months. Any decision to accept additional non-resident memberships will be made only after we have evaluated our final membership numbers, budgetary needs, and our ability to accommodate additional play without adversely affecting course access or the overall golf experience for our current members.
