Golf Saskatchewan Releases Championship Schedule
Golf Saskatchewan recently released it's 2014 Championship Schedule and among the host courses announced is Cooke Municipal Golf Course in Prince Albert which will host the 103rd Amateur Men's Championship.

Upcoming Golf Clinics and Camps

Looking to fine-tune your golf game leading up to the season? Be sure to check out one of the "March Into the Golf Season" golf camps coming soon in Saskatoon.

Camps will be held March 8th and March 22nd at the Ramada Golf Dome and hosted by PGA of Saskatchewan professional Clinton Schmaltz from GolfTec Saskatoon.

Membership Assistance Program deadline approaching

The Membership Assistance Program was developed through the combined efforts of Sask Sport Inc. and the Provincial Sport Organizations to provide direct financial assistance to associations and clubs to support community and club-level sport development.

Golf Saskatchewan receives this funding from Sask Spot Inc. each year and provides the opportunities for our member clubs to apply for grant dollars to grow the game at their club and in their community.

Applications for funding can be found on the Golf Saskatchewan website using the following link.  Deadline to apply is May 31st, 2014.


Easter Golf Camp filling up fast

Golf Saskatchewan recently announced the return of the popular Easter Golf Camp and limited spot on the golf development trip to Osoyoos and hte Osoyoos Golf Club are beginning to fill up.  Find all the information you need and registration forms by clicking on the following link.

SAGE Scholarship applications are now available

Golf Saskatchewan annually awards a number of scholarships to deserving student candidates who have made major accomplishments in academics, including golf, in Saskatchewan. The scholarships are named for individuals who have made significant contributions to amateur golf in the province.

 

Golf Saskatchewan also works with Golf Canada to assist young golfers who wish to apply for national scholarships and bursaries through the Golf Canada Foundation.

NAIG Development Clinics Approaching

The North American Indigenous Games are coming to Saskatchewan this July and Golf Saskatchewan is hosing six development clinics in preparation for the games.

"It's important to provide opportunities to aboriginal youth to develop and excel in our sport," said Phil Grosse, Golf Saskatchewan Manager of Sport Development.

"Whether these kids go on to represent Saskatchewan at the North American Indigenous Games or not, they will have had the opportunity to meet new friends, enhance their golfing abilities and gain a new level of appreciation for the game."

Golf Saskatchewan is proud to announce Brian Sinclair, head professional from the Regina Beach Golf Club, as the head coach for Saskatchewan's team at the North American Indigenous Games. Sinclair will be working with the players leading up to the games.

Camp dates in Saskatoon are Feb. 16, March 16, and April 6.

Camp dates in Regina are Feb. 23, March 23, and April 13.

World Junior Girls' Golf Championships coming

Golf Canada has announced the creation of a World Junior Girls' Golf Championship beginning in 2014.  The inaugural championship will be hosted in Ontario beginning at the end of September.

Golf Canada to allow DMD's at Championships

As part of Golf Canada's AGM in London, Ont., the Rules & Amateur Status Committee has approved the use of Distance Measuring Devices (DMD's) for all amateur championships beginning in 2014.
