Special Olympics Fundraiser

The 2nd Annual David Haines Memorial Golf Tournament benefitting the Special Olympics Florida- Pinellas County will take place on Saturday November 7th with a 12pm Shotgun. Bill and Pat Shriver have been coaching a Pinellas county team for many years and Cove Cay is the home course for our areawide Special Olympics Golf Championship each year and essentially the “hub” of Special Olympics golf in our area. We had many members support this event last year and we thank you in advance for helping to support the event again for 2020! Around Cove Cay

Shout Out To Troy! Anyone who has played at Cove Cay during the year has likely noticed the amazing improvements on course. Troy Purdue (pictured...er, well, at least that's his profile photo on Facebook:) Golf Course Superintendent. He and his team have really turned things around and we are very blessed to have them on our team. And way to go Lightning!

New Cart Path We're constantly working to improve conditions on-course and recently installed new sections of cart path on holes 3, 4, 5, 12, 13, and 17, and we made repairs to parking lots. Offering golfers a smoother ride during their round is just another way to improve their experience! The other photo is of Troy Purdue hard at work and enjoying the new equipment we purchased to help keep the course looking and playing great!

Bayview Updates

Cooler weather will get here eventually but, meanwhile, our patio seating has been very popular, no matter the temperature! Yet whether you're dining indoors or outdoors, for lunch or for dinner, you'll always get a great view and be able to remain socially distant. Saturday Group Golf Clinics

We are very excited to get back on track with a clinic that has been held each week for 31 years with Pat Shriver, our PGA lady professional! We've been getting asked when this lesson will resume and are happy to announce that it will be THIS Saturday after 6 months off due to Covid. By the way, notice our new times! Ladies 10a-11a, Men 11a-noon, Juniors 1p-2p Cost= $20 per golfer. No need to reserve a spot. The Divot Divas Road Trip

Last weekend many of our Divot Divas took their game on the road to the beautiful Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa on the east coast. The "Par-Tee" weekend included Pat Shriver and 27 Divot Divas but, unfortunately due to the weather, they didn't get a lot of time in on-course. They did, however, enjoy the scenery at this beautiful property as well as delicious food and tasty adult beverages! They also celebrated "Lil' Pat" DeGross's birthday while there! (And they were each given 2 rain checks to use when they return.) All the Divot Divas are looking forward to going back in the Spring of 2021!
