My dear friend, Barney Cargile, writes each week a wonderful article pointing out God's love for us. Here's today's article:

GOD ALWAYS WANTS MORE FOR US

In 1970, golfing legend Arnold Palmer played golf with the king of Saudi Arabia. After their game, the king wished to express his appreciation to the famous golfer, and asked what he could give him as a token of his gratitude. 

Palmer realized to refuse such an offer would be an insult to the king. So he replied, “If you wish, you can give me a golf club.”

Back home a couple of weeks later, Palmer received a large envelope from Saudi Arabia. Opening it, a card read, “A gift from the king.” Then he discovered his gift—a deed to a Saudi Arabian golf country club.

This story delivers a powerful spiritual message. The gifts of our King are greater than we could ever hope for. Ephesians 3:20 promises that God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”

This doesn’t mean God’s our genie in a lamp, awaiting our every command. In fact, often his blessings come gift-wrapped in struggles. But when the dust settles, God’s blessings are better than we could’ve imagined. We settle for a golf club, when we could have a “golf club.” Remember this: God always wants more for us than we want for ourselves.

The book of Ruth reveals the story of two women, Ruth and Naomi, who found themselves widowed, childless, and destitute. Ruth gleaned leftover grain in a field to feed the two of them. Her greatest hope was to gather enough grain to keep them from starving. But through her faithfulness and loyalty, God blessed her with a wealthy husband and a son, who became the grandfather of David. She was even an ancestor of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). 

Remember, when you pray for a golf club, expect a “golf club.” God always wants more for us than we want for ourselves.

• What specific needs have you asked God for, but aren’t sure he will supply?
• How does God’s power to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” impact your life?

Pursue: For a deeper dive, study the book of Ruth.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your generous gifts. Help me never forget that you always want more for me than I want for myself.

While much more remains, we see a shift in the situation in Minnesota. The day of repentance on Sunday February 1, focusing on Minnesota, appears to have been heard by the Lord. There was personal and national repentance; we keep praying He has heard from heaven and He can begin to forgive sins and heal that land. Dear brother Jeff,

This is by any means the greatest testimony so far. Sometime last year, I distributed 2,000 copies of Take the Repentance Route Booklet to a repentance ministry in Tete Province in Mozambique, Victory in Faith Ministries. I have been told that the booklet has been translated into a local language, "Nkhonde" which is the major language spoken among 3 million people across Tete Province in the country and over 2.5 million of copies have been printed in this language and will be distributed widely across the province. I have therefore been invited to travel to Mozambique tomorrow to be part of a special ceremony on Sunday to dedicate the booklet and at the same time I should record an audio booklet in the same language to target illiterate Christians. I have to do the recording right there. The ministry is going to foot all expenses for my accomodation and food while there. But I need to have my own transport which is going to be refunded. They don't use foreign currency there and they can't send their money to Malawi. I have to use Malawi kwacha to get there. I don't work over weekends and I'm ready to travel tomorrow. They called me, but I can ask them to send a WhatsApp message which I can forward to you. I need $90 to get there. I know that people are in need of food and other essentials needs, but I feel also that these testimonies can move people across the world to donate. Brother, this isn't a function that we should miss out. The audio version of the booklet would reach out to about 1 million people.

Your support in this matter will help a lot and move people to seed towards our activities.
