Gómez Ministry Report - September 2024

Dear Ricardo and Beth,


Ricardo was on the Colombian coast last week with nearly 200 other Free Methodists. It was the largest group to ever gather for the Colombia-Panama Annual Meeting. In fact, when he ordained 9 people, it doubled the number of elders in the Colombia-Panama Mission District!


It is exciting to see the explosive growth in this District! The Free Methodist Church began ministry 27 years-ago when Pastor Libni Gasca went door-to-door inviting people to participate. When we moved to Colombia 11 years ago, there were two Free Methodist churches in the country. When Missionaries Thad & Nikki Roller and family moved to Colombia 5 years ago there were five. Today, the FM Church is operating in 30 different locations throughout Colombia...including among native tribes. Last year, Panama joined the Colombia mission district. Although the work is very new there under the leadership of tent-building missionaries, Anthony and Lizzette Owens, they celebrated the first baptisms this weekend!


God is on the move and what a privilege it is to participate with Him in His restoration!

Young people between 9-17 also participated in their first Bible Quizzing contest during the annual meeting. A few of the 27 participants are pictured here. Watch for an inspirational story about that in the November FMWM Heartbeat Magazine. (I'll try to remember to attach the link to our newsletter when the time comes.)

Prayer Requests

Pleas pray for our leaders in Colombia and Panama as they lead this growing movement to establish its deep roots in God's Word!


Pray for Thad Roller and team who will be traveling to a newly defined Creative Access Country for the annual meetings this weekend. Particularly pray that the leaders there will be encouraged in the Lord and protected from all evil!


Pray for restructuring that we are working through in Latin America to ensure that our structure serves the Vision and Mission God has given us and not the other way around.


Pray for our upcoming travel and our kids as they stay behind and continue to settle in to their classes here.


My pinky bone has healed but the range of motion is very limited. Please pray for complete recuperation without surgical intervention.
