Last Week of Summer

Thanks to everyone who shopped at Ball & Skein during Labor Day Weekend! It's now clearly the last week of summer with cooler and shorter days.

I was able to spend time knitting a new sweater using a new yarn and am completely in love with my One Big Beautiful Ball Pullover using the new Gomitolo Modo!

Introducing Gomitolo Modo!

I could not believe how quickly my new One Big Beautiful Ball Pullover knit up! This sweater turned out to be such a happy surprise and I only used One Big Ball Ball of Gomitolo Modo! It's is so soft, lightweight and comfy!

Gomitolo Modo is a new yarn from Lana Grossa and it comes in giant 200 gram balls with 770 yards on each! It's a beautiful, colorful worsted weight yarn that's lightly twisted.

I typically do not work with Acrylic or Acrylic Blends, but this yarn has made me a convert!

Knit A Stuffie...Hardicraft Knitting Kits

Last month I introduced Hardicraft Knitting Kits, and they have been so popular that I've just re-stocked them!

These Hardicraft DIY Knitting Kits are perfect for makers of all skill levels! Every kit includes all you need to complete your new plush toy project (pattern, quality yarn, stuffing, safety eyes and the pattern) except the knitting needles! You can use single point/straight, double point, or circular needles.

So far I've knit a monkey and a panda. They're both so stinking cute!

Shopiversary Weekend Celebration...Oct 3rd - 5th

Join us October 3 - 5, 2026 for a celebration weekend marking 3 years since I purchased Ball & Skein!

The stitching and shopping fun starts on Saturday morning, October 3rd with a Needle Felting Workshop led by the creative Kathy Mulvey. Learn to Needle Felt Festive Holiday Ornaments!

On Sunday October 4th, drop by all day long to meet with Local Indie Dyer - Heather Wiebe of Smirligans Fibers and sample her gorgeous yarns! During the event, all Smirligans yarns will be Discounted 15%!

And there will be a special Sip & Stitch on Monday October 5th from 4 - 6PM in the shop. Socialize, sample teas and wines, snacks and stitch!

In addition to these activities, there will be special discounts and a daily raffle drawing! Come celebrate with us!

Autumn Vest MAL Starts next Friday Sept 25th

Celebrate the 1st National Dolly Parton day on Friday 9/25 (Nine-Two-Five) at the Autumn Vest Make-A-Long cast on!

Join us in the shop from 12 - 1:30PM to embark on your sleeve-free projects! But you don't need to attend in person to participate in the MAL. Anyone who starts a vest after September 25th and finishes by November 6th is eligible for the $100 Gift Card!

I'll be wearing something sparkly in memory of Dolly...you should too!
