Happy 2021!
Who knew last year at this time that we would be SOOO excited to welcome in a new year! And I think that is pretty much the universal feeling - 2020 has been a challenge and we are all ready to leave it behind!
So, with the new year – I am betting you just couldn’t resist jotting down a few resolutions, right? I know it is a well-known statistic that most resolutions are broken before that ink is dry…..but even still, we are eternally optimistic that THIS year, we will keep them! So it is hard not to at least make a couple promises to ourselves. This year we will eat better, walk more, sew more, keep our sewing room neater…..be kinder to ourselves and others….go for it!
We are making resolutions for Gone Quilting, too! We are resolving to carry on – challenge you with fun stuff – educate you a bit – continue to promote our great hobby – and just provide you with a venue of amazing friends that will make you laugh, no matter how difficult your day was. That being said – January 19th, here we come!
We are changing up our programs a bit this year – highlighting a favorite designer each month that is from the Midwest region. Some of these will be old friends, others you might not realize grew up right here in our backyard! Our January spotlight will shine on Terry Atkinson, of Atkinson Designs. Terry lives in Elk River, Minnesota and I will hazard a guess that everyone has made at least one of Terry’s excellent patterns. If you have, please bring it along to share. Does Yellow Brick Road ring any bells?
Since we were unable to officially finalize our 2020 challenge with the Blocks of the Month, please bring yours along to share – regardless if it is all quilted and bound or still just a nice, neat stack of blocks! We would just love to ooh and aaah over each one, since we weren’t able to do that in November.
Lots of new things happening for 2021 – continuing to honor the social distancing/mask wearing mandates. Plenty of room to spread out amongst the tempting displays. We have missed every single one of you! So, pack up all those pretties you didn’t give away for holiday gifts, include anything from Atkinson Designs – and come join the fun as we are Gone Quilting on Tuesday, January 19. And here’s a thought….bring a friend! I bet she would like us too!
