Dear Quilters

Well, we asked for it – and we have it….warm weather!   Makes for great traveling weather, as you hop around Iowa on the All Iowa Shop Hop!    I hope that you are getting a chance to venture out to visit a few of our Iowa shops.   We truly are very blessed to have so many wonderful shops to choose from!   Our specific region is featured this week– so you will find those quilt shops open this Sunday.   Stop by to see us!  It will be cool inside our doors.

I am so sad that I missed a great show and tell, program and challenge last month.  But knew you were in great hands.    Everyone loves the patterns designed by Pieced Tree – and a trunk show always makes it fun.    This month we have another great local designer to feature – and many of you might even know her!   Diane will be sharing the story of Deb Eggers, the designer behind The Cottage Rose.    You may remember Deb from her little shop in Marion.   After closing the shop, she has concentrated on designing and we love her look.  Diane has chosen some great patterns to share and created a bit of a trunk show of her own.   I know you will be tempted!

Did you get a chance to share your interpretation of the Shape Shifters challenge last month?   If not, it is never too late to share!    And perhaps….just perhaps…..we will have another fun challenge to offer you.   Don’t forget that blocks are still being accepted for the Delaware County Fair block challenge.    The completed blocks are displayed at the shop – and boy, is the curve set high this year!   This is such fun – so I hope you are able to play along.  Still plenty of time!

Maybe you are like me – and instead of mowing my lawn every few days, I can spend a little more time at my machine?   Gotta look for the silver linings, right?   We are always trying to tempt you – with new samples, new programs.   Did you see we are going to start a fun, new sew-along in July??    I will have an exclusive sneak peek for you!

Be careful of the heat  - enjoy that cool glass of lemonade – and we promise to keep it nice and cool next Tuesday, as we are Gone Quilting!
