Hello Quilters!

So, are you someone who feels Fall is their favorite time of year?     The colors, the flavors – are so beautiful!  It just makes me sad – as it also means the weather will be getting colder, the days shorter, and Christmas will be here before we know it!     On the positive side – it does mean more time can be spent indulging our favorite hobby!    And that can’t be all bad.    I do think I love every season……and in Iowa we have a lot of them!

We have been so busy at the shop –  making new samples to tempt you, offering new activities to support your habit, and having so much fun doing all of it.    This month we enjoyed our first evening of Stitch and Sip – with busy fingers doing English Paper Piecing, knitting, cross-stitch and bindings.   Even a bit of resume writing was going on!   Lot of laughs and discussion, a bit of sipping…and totally relaxing.  Ya gotta try it sometime.  We have also welcomed a great new group of new-to-quilting gals – learning color selection, how to manage a ruler AND a rotary cutter, and perfecting that ¼” seam.    Remember those days??     We have openings in a couple classes yet – if you are looking for challenge!

Were you as excited about Patchabilities applique as I was last month??   What fun little projects to give as gifts or use to decorate your own personal space.    Special thanks to Joanne for sharing that with us.  Remember to bring along some completed Patchabilities, if you have made her designs.  Carol is our guest presenter this month – and she has some great samples to tempt you with, featuring a designer called Creek Side Stitches.  We have carried their designs for years - you might have even overlooked them.  You will love them.

As always, we can't wait to see all the beautiful quilts you bring to share with us.   Remember you will have another month to work on our latest challenge - making a special fall quilt or runner for YOU.  I am challenging you to gift yourself.  We plan to see them in October....have you started??  Tick tick....

Enjoy these beautiful weekends - and we are hoping Tuesday night you will be Gone Quilting!
