Hey, Gone Quilters!

Happy summertime, right?   These days go flying by - but every one is different and exciting.   Area county fairs have kept families running and playing - all part of our beautiful Iowa life.  So fun, but oh, so tiring!   I am personally looking forward to some quiet, less busy days.  Is there such a thing as the dog days of summer anymore???

We have been busy at the shop, still seeing some great shophoppers stopping in.  People from around the US as well as a great visitor from Germany!   It is so exciting to meet and share our interests with these people - and yes, can't say ladies, as we have had lots of guys in as well.  We recently met a great couple visiting the area - and while she shopped.....he shared his incredible knowledge about old sewing machines, primarily featherweights.  Made us all wish we owned one!!

Thanks to Diane for sharing one of her favorite designers, Deb Eggers of The Cottage Rose last month.  This month we will meet one of my favorite designers, Sherri Falls of This & That.  I met her a few years ago - just as down to earth as her beautiful designs.  Have you made some of her designs?  Bring them along to share if you have!   I have a few new ones to share as well!

In June, I challenged to you make a project from a magazine......that was the only rule.  Can't wait to see what you decided - learn more about your source of inspiration.   You have until August....so don't panic.  Making something big? OR something small?  Does it have any yo-yo's???  I have to say - I was truly overwhelmed with all my special gifts last month! I took a couple to work to show off in my office.....have to say the guys didn't get the joke at all.  But that is ok - I thank you from the bottom of my heart for playing along.  It was unexpected, hilarious - and humbling.  I have also learned.....don't turn your back on Carol!!

So, enjoy these beautiful summer days - do take time to put your feet up and relax.  Maybe around a campfire - or maybe on the sofa with a good book.  But do take time to join us Tuesday night, as we will be Gone Quilting!
