Attend the Iowa CCA Summer Workshop on July 31

The Iowa CCA board’s education committee organizes a summer workshop or field day to provide the latest knowledge on current agronomic issues and offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain certification.

This year’s summer workshop will be held July 31 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Iowa State University Field Extension Education Lab (1928 240th St, Boone). Topics to be covered include ISU research plots, drones, imagery, and biologicals. Up to 6.5 CEUs will be offered. Registration is $50 for regular attendees and FREE for students and interns. Lunch, drinks, and snacks will be provided. Click here to register.

Elections for the Iowa CCA Board of Directors

The Iowa CCA Board of Directors will be seeking candidates for this fall’s board election. Director terms will begin in January 2026 and run through December 2028. The board meets quarterly, typically in Des Moines with a virtual option. A board member is required to attend a minimum of three meetings each year and will be asked to help with committees or run for officer.

Watch for additional information and nomination forms coming this fall!

Window Testing for CCA Exams

CCA exams are offered quarterly. The International and Local exams can be taken together in one quarterly window or be split between different windows. The sections of Crop Management, Nutrient Management, Soil and Water Management, and Pest Management can also be taken separately.

The next exam window is August 6 – 20, 2025. Registration for the window is open July 2 – 28, 2025. If you know someone who is interested in becoming a CCA, send them this link: Exams | Certified Crop Adviser

CEU Opportunities to Maintain Certification

In order to maintain your certification, log in to your account frequently to make sure you’re on track for CEUs. Self-reporting is an option if you attended an activity that did not apply for CEUs. When reporting, you will need the meeting title, location, speaker information, sponsoring organization, date, description, and CEU category. Click here for more information about maintaining CEUs and self-reporting.
