November/December Give Where You Live Program
Featured Nonprofit:
Refuge for Women

Refuge for Women is a groundbreaking program that offers free one-year residential healing program to women exploited by the sex industry. The program is a safe environment founded on unyielding love, support, healing through Christ, and meaningful opportunities to prepare for a successful transition into a stable, self-sustainable life. Women receive housing, food, clothing, medical care, counseling, and individual and group healing programs. The life skills program includes personal development, financial literacy, professional development, and health and wellness. Women can earn their GEDs, continue their education, and get jobs. Mentors help women develop a plan for a successful transition. Refuge for Women offers a new life to women who have been cast aside, rejected, and condemned.

Thanks to our generous shoppers, Good Foods Market & Caf donated $778.31 to Lexington Habitat For Humanity, our September/October Give Where You Live Partner.

Art in the Caf

Artist Statement - Elodie Saracco

I'm a French woman, climber, photographer, traveler who fell in love with Kentucky 6 years ago and decided to come and live here, rock climb, and shoot photos.

My camera on my side, I keep traveling around the world and exploring this beautiful planet. I want to experiment, experience; I want to look at more, see beyond; get out of my comfort zone; learn and grow from other sceneries, cultures, mentalities.

Photography is my way to express myself, communicate, and get connected with others. Eyes wide open, I'm trying to seize and capture the instant and share a vision - my vision - with you.

You can see more of my work here.

Do not hesitate to contact me for more information, request or feedback ... I'd love to hear from you!
