There are certainly many instructions listed here that are applicable for us in the COVID-19 season as well, such as being at peace among ourselves, encouraging the faint hearted, and being patient with all. I think, however, one of the greatest encouragements is to pray without ceasing. COVID-19 is helping to illustrate for us our utter dependence on the Lord. We can express that dependence through prayer.
Last week I was on a call with all of the denominational leaders who are members of the National Association of Evangelicals. One of the decisions we made was to
encourage our congregations and their members to join together for a day of fasting and prayer on Good Friday.
We thought that uniting together in prayer and fasting would be good for our own souls, allow us to see and recognize the hand and power of God, and be a sign of unity.
