FROM THE DESK OF
Executive Director, Dan Mauer
August 2024
Happy August, everyone — and welcome to the latest edition of our monthly newsletter, Mission Matters!
| I hope everyone is staying cool in the middle of the heat this week. We've had an incredibly busy month in July and lots going on in August. Here's just some of it... | Our Antigua 2024 mission trip to Obras Sociales Del Santo Hermano Pedro Hospital in Antigua, Guatemala was a huge success! | Led by volunteer mission coordinators, Bryan Humphrey and Dr. Scott Montgomery, we had fifty-two volunteers from seven states, screened 178 patients – 73 urology and ENT surgeries, and 70 clinic patients, including 28 fluoroscopy guided procedures. | |
Warehouse Cleanup Day
Our Warehouse Cleanup Days are now held on the second Saturday of each month. Please join us next Saturday, August 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our office (8363 Melrose Dr., Lenexa, KS 66214) for Warehouse Cleanup Day. We always have a lot of fun, so come by and pitch in!

By the way, do you know any students who need volunteer hours? Medical Missions Foundation will put them to work!
| There is so much more work that goes into a mission than the actual time traveling. Volunteers have to make sure we have all the right equipment and supplies to provide care. | Last Saturday morning, about a dozen volunteers got together to pack suitcases for our upcoming mission to Gulu, Uganda. Time is counting down as they prepare for their September 6th journey. | Stay tuned to social media and for stories about our missions, be sure to check out our Mission Blogs. Thanks to our teams for all their great work! | On July 21st, Medical Missions Foundation once again partnered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters to provide "Health for the Littles". | During the special clinic, we saw 36 "littles". Thank you to all our volunteers who made this event possible. | |
This year we are excited to celebrate the 23rd Annual Golf Classic on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024! Join Royals Hall of Fame pitcher, Al Fitzmorris, fellow golf enthusiasts, and local sports celebrities for lunch, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a day of golf at the exciting course at Creekmoor Golf Course one of the top-rated courses in the Midwest.
