BCF Hosts "Clicks for a Cause: Mastering Digital Communications for Nonprofits"

On August 13, Bayou Community Foundation held the first of four sessions in our "Clicks for a Cause: Mastering Digital Communications for Nonprofits" cohort with Laura Siu Nguyen, MA of Tablestory Comms at the Bayou Region Incubator.

Over the coming weeks, representatives from 20 local nonprofits will learn how to build stronger digital connections, create content that inspires action and use social media and email to grow support.

We are excited to watch these organizations GROW THEIR SKILLS AND AMPLIFY THEIR IMPACT, helping make the Bayou Region a place where ALL CAN THRIVE.

BCF's ANCHOR the Bayou Community Survey

Bayou Community Foundation’s ANCHOR the Bayou project is dedicated to building a stronger, more resilient South Lafourche and South Terrebonne community—guided by the voices of the people who live and work here.

Earlier this year, we hosted listening sessions where residents shared their challenges, hopes and ideas. Now, we are taking the next important step: launching our community survey.

This survey is a key part of our ongoing Community Needs Assessment. It is your chance to tell us what matters most. No matter your role in the community, your insight will help guide our next steps together.

Take the survey today and help shape the future of the Bayou!

Second Harvest Bayou Warehouse

Celebrates Grand Opening

Bayou Community Foundation staff and Board members joined the celebration on July 30 at the incredible new Second Harvest Bayou Warehouse Grand Opening. This new facility will be a critical resource in our community's fight against hunger.

BCF Executive Director Jennifer Armand was honored to reflect on the Foundation’s valuable partnership with Second Harvest and how this new distribution center will provide more food and other resources to local food pantries more quickly, efficiently and affordably to feed thousands of neighbors in need right here at home.

Since 2015, BCF has granted nearly $200,000 to support Second Harvest food distribution in our area through our Annual Nonprofit Grants Program and Bayou Recovery Fund. We have also partnered with Second Harvest on many initiatives like equipment grants for local food pantries, our Rebuild the Bayou Program, Second Harvest Bayou Fund, Hunger Summits, Working Group on Hunger and Bayou Region Food Bank Directory.
