Thank You Class of 2022 Interns
Good luck on your next chapter!
We say goodbye to our Class of 2022 interns this week, and we'd like to thank each of them for all of their hard work, effort, and willingness to learn.

Trevor, Cole, Jaden, Jay, Tristan and Jack, we enjoyed having you as part of our team, and we would love to have you back for Internship 2.0, Class of 2023 - or as full-time employees after graduation! Either way, we know you will be successful in your future endeavors, we wish you all the best, and we look forward to seeing what you do next.
Before completing the program, they took some time to share their thoughts about the internship, and about Casella Construction in general. Check out what they had to say below!

Score Tickets to the Fair!
We have tickets available to the 176th Vermont State Fair in Rutland that is going on now (and goes through Saturday, August 20th)!
Would you like a pair of tickets for admission to the fair? All you have to do is submit a jobsite photo (or video). The FIRST 15 PEOPLE to submit a photo will receive 2 tickets!
Don't forget to stop by the "Touch a Truck" section of the fairgrounds (between the Dairy Barn and the Sugar House) while you're there! We have partnered with the Vermont State Fair this year and with our D8 parked as backdrop, we will have a mini-excavator to let kids or adults give a run at the equipment rodeo we ran at the career fair earlier this year.
We will be running our signature equipment rodeo on the following days/times:
Thursday (TODAY!) 8/18
4:00 - 8:00 PM
Friday, 8/19
4:00 - 8:00 PM
Saturday, 8/20
2:00 - 6:00 PM
We hope to see you there!
Clarendon Elementary Visit
Touch a Truck
We put one of our new Kenworth T880 triaxle dump trucks in the Clarendon Elementary Touch a Truck event. Our driver, Lara Bitler, brought the truck there and enjoyed helping all the kids explore the truck.
"Thank you, Lara, for your time invested in showing the community how awesome Casella Construction is!"

Excellent job team! Thank you for all of your hard work.
Good Catch / Near Miss Program
So far in August, we have received five Good Catch / Near Miss submissions - with four coming from Transportation! Thank you for these submissions; they continue to help us develop insight as to what is happening during everyday operations.
If you believe something is a Good Catch, please bring it to your supervisors. Also, feel free to contact the Safety Department with your Good Catches if you are unsure.
A Good Catch winning submission is chosen every month.
Identification of hazards plays a key role in limiting the number of jobsite accidents and injuries. Take a few moments each day to discuss what you are doing, and identify where you could run into issues.

This applies to all areas that we work in. Things don't always go according to plan, and you must be able to change directions on the fly. Many times, this is when there is a breakdown in communication and something undesired happens. If you are suddenly put in a position where you are not comfortable, say something. If you must go a different route than normal and are unsure of possible hazards, reduce your speed and pay close attention.
Can you answer the question from this week's safety discussion?
