Dear National Athletes,
Tennesseans! We are so proud of your accomplishments and wanted to take the chance to wish you the best of luck as over 500 of you are heading to Des Moines.
Win or lose, we are hopeful that the experience will be extremely rewarding for you.
A few notes:
1) The Celebration of Athletes will be Monday, June 28. Plan on wearing one of your TN State Finals shirts so that everyone looks sharp marching in. The honor of carrying the TN flag always goes to our oldest athletes competing (and who have also indicated they will attend the Celebration). Thank you Dan Ball (90) and Maureen Meeks (91).
We encourage you all to sing “Rocky Top” to showcase the awesome spirit of the Volunteer State!

2025 TN Athletes Registered for Nationals
Please be aware that the NSGA is only able to send us athletes with a TN address. Our border state athletes from GA, VA, MS, KY etc are not included in the count. Please forward this e-mail to TN athletes you know just across the state border.
3) Tennessee typically places in the top 10 in medal count and we are eager to keep an eye on the overall medal report as we cheer each medal that comes through!

4) We wish that staff could be on hand to cheer you on but we are staying back to prepare for our August 6-10 pickleball championship. Please do your best to keep track of TN friends and show up at their events for support!
5) Please be aware that the qualifying cycle for the 2027 Nationals begins right as you get home! Many of our sports will require participation in 2025 districts in order to move on to the 2026 state finals. The 2026 state finals are the official qualifier for the 2027 Nationals. Please read the article at the bottom.

2026 STATE FINALS ELIGIBILITY NOTE
Per the TSO Board, participation in a 2025 District Games will be required to qualify for the 2026 State Finals. The 2026 State Finals is a qualifier for the 2027 Nationals.
Attending our 2025 Districts will be a vital step towards qualifying for the 2026 State Finals! This is not just a requirement; it’s an incredible opportunity for growth, competition, and connection. By participating in the district competitions, you’ll not only enhance your skills but also immerse yourself in the wonderful camaraderie that our community fosters. Together, we can embrace the joy of movement, fitness, and shared experiences.

The 2026 Tennessee Senior Olympics State Finals events will serve as qualifying opportunities for the 2027 Nationals.
Top finalists at our state finals events will qualify for the 2027 National Senior Games scheduled for Tulsa, OK, with dates to be determined.
