Lt. Gregg Bliss, University Police

Join me in congratulating Lt. Greg Bliss on completing the FBI LEEDA leadership trilogy! The trilogy is composed of three one-week courses that enhance a supervisor's skill sets. The series is composed of the Supervisor, Command, and Executive Leadership Institutes. Lt. Bliss was trained in topics such as mentoring, risk management, command discipline, leading change in a department, public trust and legitimacy, employee wellness, transformational leadership, and social and emotional intelligence.

Lt. Bliss provides an example for all police officers and supervisors in seeking to improve themselves and engage in professional development for the welfare of their department and the community we serve.

Career Services Staff

Congratulations to the Office of Career Services for being selected for the 2023 Excellence in Career Development/Exploration Programming Office Award by the SUNY Career Development Organization!

This award is for programs that focus on career exploration and preparation, and provide information, facilitate self-reflection, or coach students on the how-to of a career search. The Office was honored for the comprehensive Betsy and Jesse Fink Career Development Program, which includes four key areas: Career Fellowships, Regional Internship Program, Professional Networking Events, and the Thomas Slocum Career Advancement Award.

The office also received Honorable Mention in the 2023 NACE Career Services Excellence Award. NACE is the large governing body of colleges and employers and our key professional association. This is still a huge achievement as ESF was up against colleges and universities from across the country! Way to go, Career Services staff!
