12pm - Race Packet Pick up opens at Lake Mission Viejo, 22555 Olympiad Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692 (Bring ID / Confirmation Email)


12:30pm - Transition 1 opens for Bike Drop off / Setup @ Lake Mission Viejo, 22555 Olympiad Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692


12:30pm - Transition 2 opens for Shoe Drop off. Caddy Corner from the Saddleback Church Offices. 20532 El Toro Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Park in the offices lot and walk across the streets. DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET


1pm - Course Talk with Coach Russ Jones - Safety on Swim and Bike


3pm - Course Talk with Coach Russ Jones - Lifetime Achievement Award USAT


4pm - Race Packet Pick-up closes


4:30pm - Transitions close.

5:00 - Parking lots open, Parking Map, Only VIP's allowed in Lake Mission Viejo Lot.

VIP's Parking Pass coming via info@octriseries.com in a separate email. Your name will be on a list at the gate as well, in case you don't have a printer or forget yours. (A printed pass and ID makes entrance way faster)


5:30 - Athlete Check in opens near Finish Line. (Bring ID / Confirmation Email)

NOTE - Race day check in is for those that purchased Race Day Pickup or VIP.


5:30 - Transitions Open. VIP Booth opens.


7:00 - Wave 1 - Orange - Men 39 and Under | Elite | Heroes.


Duathlon starts at T2.


7:03 - Wave 2 - Grey - Men 40-49 and Clydesdales


7:06 - Wave 3 - Blue - Age Group Women | Athena's


7:09 - Wave 4 - White - Men 50-59 and All Aquabike


7:12 - Wave 5 - Lime Green - Men 60+ and All Relays


8:00 - 5K Run/Walk Starts - Lake Mission Viejo


9:00 - Food ready to serve


10:00 - Transition 2 opens for Bike pickup - PLEASE UTILIZE THE SADDLEBACK CHURCH OFFICES LOT. DO NOT PARK IN STREET.


12:00 - Event Ends

It's not too late to have friends and family be part of the action and run the 5K while they wait for you to finish!

Race Bib

pin on the front of your shirt or attach to a race belt


Bike/Helmet stickers

fold bike number over top tube of bike, stick helmet sticker to front of helmet


Timing Chip

attach to left ankle, turn in at finish line, they're expensive.


Meal Ticket

Your bib is your food ticket.  DON'T LOSE IT, extra tickets available at the OC Booth for purchase, in case your friends and family love food too.


Wrist Band

wear this on your wrist.  VIP will have a VIP wristband.


Swim Cap

cap color will be printed on your packet, be sure to grab the right one.


Race Mate Bag (Triathletes, Aquabike, Duathletes)

This is a must have for race prep! We hope you enjoy it!


Sweatshirt (5K Run/Walk)

grab the size you ordered, check after the race for available sizes if you need to switch.

  • Helmet strapped before leaving transition
  • Listen to the course talk
  • Course is a shared course after you leave Mission Viejo, pay attention to traffic and officers. Highly recommend you watch the course preview video,
  • Slow down as you enter the bike path off of Santiago Canyon as you approach T2
RUN - 10 Kilometers
Key Run Notes
  • Pay attention to course markings. It's a complicated run course. Don't get lost.
  • Utilize the trash cans at aid stations.
  • Return Timing Chip at Finish Line.
