University of Louisiana Federal Credit Union (ULFCU) is honored to announce Emmitt Walker (Broussard, Louisiana) as the 2023 Lucky Lagniappe Savings Account Annual Prize Winner of $5,000.

ULFCU Marketing Manager, Katelyn LeBlanc, called Emmitt to inform him about winning, and he replied with shock, “is this a prank?”

Katelyn asked him why he chose to open his Lucky Lagniappe Savings Account in 2021, and he says he opened the account to save money for his 4-year-old daughter. When asked what his plans are for his new cash prize, Emmitt says, “I plan on giving the money to my daughter when she graduates high school, or use it to help her buy a car.”
