LCUL Meets with New LOFI Commissioner
Earlier this week, LCUL's Advocacy team attended an in-person meeting with Louisiana's Office of Financial Institutions' (LOFI) new commissioner, Stanley M. Dameron. Dameron took office on February 17 and is the past President/CEO of American Bank & Trust. A Louisiana native with more than 48 years in the financial industry, Dameron is well versed in the state's financial landscape.

During the meeting, topics such as the credit union difference, shadow banking and current bills in the legislature were discussed along with a promise to continue our annual LOFI and state chartered credit union roundtables.

FiCEP Recertification is Easier Than Ever
If you earned your Certified Financial Counselor designation (CCUFC) through the FiCEP program three or more years ago, you are due to recertify this year. Yes, Class of 2018, we’re looking at you!

You may have already received an email from CUNA with a reminder. The good news is, CCUFC recertification no longer requires an exam. CUNA has made it very simple for you. You may either opt in to an E-School or simply purchase a short book to be read at your leisure. Both options provide you with updated information, best practices and new counseling program ideas.

4th Quarter 2020 CU Profiles & Milestones Reports Available
LCUL works with CUNA's Economics & Statistics Department to analyze quarterly data submitted by credit unions to NCUA and then provides a quarterly report showing trends in various areas including loan & savings growth, risk trends, membership trends, and more. We also provide a "milestones" report that looks at top credit unions in the areas of loan penetration, share draft penetration, and average savings balances.

This report also highlights credit unions that have reached and exceeded certain amounts for assets, members, and loans. The reports for the 4th Quarter of 2020 are now complete and have been posted to the League’s website.
