“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”
                                                         Corrie ten Boom

Corrie ten Boom was an amazing woman who started several organizations to promote healing and the message of hope after World War II. Her worldwide ministry testified to God’s love and mercy. The quote above is just one of her more than fifty inspiring quotes.

Unfortunately, we all worry! Worry gives way to anxiety and anxiety allows our minds to dwell on the difficulty or troubles at hand. Just as a dog gnaws on a bone, so anxiety gnaws away at our joy and leaves us feeling hopeless and emptied of our strength.

God has an antidote for worry; it is found in the WORD of GOD!

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.”  Isaiah 26:3

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

“Those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31a

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust.” Psalms 18:2

“I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”  Psalms 91:2

“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Proverbs 30:5

The above scriptures all have a common thread, that thread is the word TRUST.

As you reflect on the Scriptures, make this your prayer:
“Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth   and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.” Psalms 25:4-5

We can be confident in placing our trust in God, because He is TRUTH.
“He is the Rock, His work is perfect: For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice. Righteous and upright is He.”  Deuteronomy 32:4

Let the Truths of Scripture:
  • Fill Your Mind and Flow into Your Heart
  • Guard Your Emotions
  • Influence Your Conduct
A Life Grounded in TRUTH:
  • Is Powerful
  • Guards against deception
  • Demonstrates wisdom and godliness
  • Develops spiritual maturity

Exchange worry by investing your time and energy building the TRUTH of God’s WORD into your life; once you know and embrace the TRUTH you will be in the perfect position to place your TRUST in HIM. There is nothing I can think of that offers us the spiritual riches of a life grounded in TRUTH.

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
