Good Morning PGCC

A PRAYER WE CAN ALL PRAY by Marilyn Bennett

The sun is shining and as far as I know none of us are sick with this virus, though we are sick of the virus.

Yet, many in our world are sick and for those we pray. We pray for:

  • those who cannot be by the bedside of their loved ones
  • those who cannot bury their loved ones.
  • medical personnel and others who are working tirelessly on the front lines during this crisis.
  • scientists who are trying to create a vaccine.
  • the vulnerable who have no access to information and therefore do not know how to protect themselves.
  • small business owners and big corporations who are going under.
  • those out of work that they will have their needs met.
  • those who love to be out and about but can no longer do so because they must “shelter in place.”
  • enough fear to make safe choices, not just for our safety, but for the safety of others
  • enough courage to figure out ways to help others who are in need.
  • a willingness to be generous with our goods and that we will think of ways to encourage each other.

Lord, we never thought we would see a day when not one person was in church on Easter, yet we know you are working.

Our most gracious heavenly Father, you have never let evil stop your goodness. We thank you that you are the God who created us and loves us.

We worship you this day with all our heart, mind and soul.

Help us see what is really important. Help us make good use of our time on this earth. Give us strength and courage to do the tasks you set before us.

In Jesus name. Amen.

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish."
John 10:27-28

Do you have any original art that you created yourself to share? It could bu paintings, drawings, crafts, sewing, photography, sock puppets.... If so, send a picture to us at .

Easter reminds us of how Jesus gave so much to us. He gave to us freely with absolutely no strings attached. Let’s freely give back to Him today with no strings attached.

Give time to reading your Bible and prayer
We are reminded in Psalm 119:105 that God’s word is a “lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” His words encourage us and provide direction in times when we don’t know which direction to go, or how He would want us to respond in a specific circumstance. In addition to reading God’s word, praying and asking God for wisdom helps ensure that we are responding in a way that will honor Him. Take time today to read your Bible and pray.

Give time to reach out to someone
We all need the personal touch of others which is not possible right now with social distancing. As you read this, does someone you haven’t spoken to in a while come to your mind? If so, stop what you are doing right now and give them a call or write them a “thinking of you” card or note. You will find that they are not the only one who will be blessed!

Continue to give your offering to the Church
You may be wondering how you can make a difference right now when so many are in need? One way is through your faithful giving, supporting ministry yo others through Pleasant Grove Community Church!

Just this past week we had several opportunities to minister to others that your giving made possible including:

  • Much needed additional financial assistance to the Teen Challenge Happy Valley Women & Children’s Center
  • Care Packets for our PGCC Kids that include Bible lessons, books, stickers and more assembled by Sara Grasmuck our Children’s Program Coordinator
  • The startup of a new Bible study (online for now) for young married couples

Thank you for making a difference by supporting these very important ministries at PGCC!

Please don’t stop giving your tithes and offerings.
