4,411 days ago, Liz Buechele '15 posted a simple, happy thought on Facebook. "Day 1: Happiness is.. those perfect car rides where the radio just plays all the right songs." 


12 years later, her intentional effort to share a positive thought unintentionally started a movement, and an organization called The Smile Project.

With a career as director of pharmacy and other pharmaceutical venues, Dr. Jill Pfeufer Fandrich '92, has recently published six new books on topics of self-help, critical thinking, disease prevention, adult fiction and children's stories, all available on Amazon!

Since retiring from a 30-year pastorate in Natrona Heights, PA, R. Cameron Malcolm IV '77 has written 10 books, including a six book series of holiday novellas - "A Divine Christmas Ghost Story".

Congrats to the principal of Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Peters Township School District, Greg Marquis '02, who earned his Doctorate in Education from Point Park.

A member of the '61-'62 WC basketball team that was an NAIA national runner-up, Lou Skurcenski '64, was posthumously inducted into the Bartlesville, OK Athletic Hall of Fame.

A third book by Taylor Galaska '21 has recently been released. All proceeds from "Black Gold: Boomtowns, Prominent Men, and Grand Farmhouses of Hickory Township" go to the Sharon Historical Society.

Wendy Moore '02, a teacher in Pittsburgh Public Schools, was recently appointed executive director of the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Museum.
