Dear Colleague,

Good news! Equity 101 is back by popular demand for spring 2020.

California Community Colleges are experiencing a critical moment of transformation through demands to integrate programs, create Guided Pathways, and revise ESL, English, and Math pathways via AB 705, and equity is foundational to all of these initiatives. What we need is a space to inquire into teaching and learning perspectives for equity and opportunities to mindfully and intentionally reflect on our core beliefs and practices within education.

In response to this need, 3CSN has launched Equity 101, a 7-week online course , intended to create a space for educators to learn some of the many teaching and learning perspectives for equity, and to reflect, collaborate, and deepen our practice as educators.

Equity is praxis (reflection in action upon the world to transform it); equity is the result of on-going inquiry into our theories and practices, and at its core is the goal of social justice.

This is not a how-to-equity class; rather, it’s a place for educators to inquire into effectively facilitating learning and success for diverse students, engage in praxis, and build a community of learners with the intent of achieving equity for our students.

Our spring Equity 101 class begins February 3rd . Please join us!
