Liberty Student Featured in the Colorado Springs Gazette!

Last week, CICC's Home Build Program made the FRONT PAGE of the Gazette! Victoria Turner, a Liberty High School graduate and participant in the CICC Program, proudly acquired the house she contributed to building in high school! Placed by the CICC program, Victoria began her career in construction by working at Peak View Roofing, furthering her journey in the field.

Women in Construction Week is March 3-9!

Kicking off Women in Construction Week by spotlighting one of our amazing CICC graduates! Meet Julie Lopez, a 2022 graduate from Atlas Preparatory School. Inspired by a guest speaker from El Paso County Department of Public Works, she landed a job on the spot. Julie's now close to completing her CDL certification and is even inspiring others as a guest speaker at schools! Go, Julie!

Meeker High School - Women In Construction Week!

Meeker High School kicking off Women In Construction Week with the spotlight on two exceptional students! Meet Dayonna (left), a junior with two years of experience in the CICC class. She's currently crafting a vanity from repurposed pine fencing. She's exploring welding as a potential career path post graduation! Mylee (right), a sophomore diving into her first semester of CICC. Together with her mom, she's designing an awesome cutting board. Cheers to their talent and dedication!

A big shoutout to Rick Fout, the chief building inspector for the Town of Breckenridge! Rick has been instrumental in guiding Summit High School students through their first tiny home project, offering invaluable support and expertise. His dedication and partnership with Summit High School and the Summit County Builders Association are greatly appreciated!

Jim McCrary, Construction Supervisor for Classic Homes

A huge shoutout to Jim McCrary, Construction Supervisor at Classic Homes, for serving as a judge at the Colorado Springs SkillsUSA regional competition! Jim not only generously volunteered for SkillsUSA but also serves as our Home Build Captain for Power Technical (PTEC). Under his guidance, they've already completed one home and are diligently working on their second. Thank you, Jim, for your tireless dedication to supporting our students and program!
