SCHOOL YEAR RECAP

What a great school year! CICC wrapped up the year with programs in 62 schools, over 2,600 students enrolled—our most successful year yet! Highlights include:

  • CICC students placed first, second, and third in all six skilled trades categories at the State SkillsUSA Competition in April.
  • Liberty High School completed their Home Build, which was purchased by a former student who helped build it.
  • Summit High School started and finished a 288-square-foot tiny home within one school year.
  • Coronado High School successfully moved their Home Build.
  • Lewis Palmer High School started their first Home Build.
  • Manitou Springs High School completed their first Home Build.
  • Aurora Public Schools successfully implemented a voluntary permit program for their CICC program at Gateway High School.

And there's much more to celebrate! Thank you to all students, teachers, and partners who made this year a remarkable success.

STUDENT BUILT HOMES!

Coronado Home Build Move!

Students from Coronado High School got to witness their home build prepped, craned, and moved to its new home last month! Thanks to Nick Starkey from Vantage Homes and Grant Hall from Better By Design, this home was safely transported to its final destination. What an amazing experience for students to build this incredible 1,200-square-foot modular home and got to witness the moving process once it was completed! They will start their next Home Build in the fall!

Summit High School Tiny Home Completion!

Last month, Summit High School students finished their Tiny Home! Over 50 member companies of the Summit County Builders Association, who helped build this home, attended the completion ceremony. This 288-square-foot tiny home was built in conjunction with SCBA, Colorado River BOCES, Summit High School, and CICC. Some of these students even landed jobs with the tradesmen who helped build the tiny home! They will be starting their next home in the fall!
