Dear friends,
More than 40 years ago, folks like Saul Tijerina and Jerry Stacy and Amelia del Pozo and Shirley Jewell dared to dream of and live into a new reality of mission: Not one church “doing church” to another, but two churches coming together to discern how God was calling them into partnership on the US/Mexico border.
In 1984, Frontera de Cristo was established as one of the binational ministries of Presbyterian Border Ministry. For 40 years, God has been building us together with all of our political, religious, economic, cultural, and linguistic particularities to witness to the reality of God’s desire for us to live as one humanity.
We are grateful that you have chosen to be a part of this community. We not only celebrate what God has done in and through this unlikely community of faith, but we also continue to prepare and anticipate the surprises that God has in store for us in the years to come.
