Good News Family & Friends,

We hope you're having a good week! Our students are in the final 10 days countdown to the end of school and they can't wait for summer! As the school year wraps up,

NEW! Kids' Fishing Event - THIS Saturday (10am - 12pm)

Good News Church GA is helping to launch a Lanier Fishing Club (at the middle school) and GHSA Lanier Fishing Team (at the high school). The purpose is multi-dimensional and includes teaching kids how to fish, mentoring, having fun, competing, and positioning for college scholarships. Kids, adults, and potential volunteers are all welcome to attend this kick off event THIS Saturday, May 14 (10am - 12pm) at Rhodes-Jordan Park (Lawrenceville). For details, directions, and to RSVP, click here.

Sunday (10am) - Discovering Your S.H.A.P.E.

This Sunday, we'll be in Week 3 of an interactive series on helping us all better understand how God has uniquely created each one of us for life and love and ministry! We're teaching and assessing our way through the acronym S.H.A.P.E. (Spiritual Gifts - Heart / Passions - Abilities / Skills - Personality - Experiences of Life). Last week we covered Spiritual Gifts. This week, we'll talk about Heart / Passions and Abilities / Skills. We're learning a lot about ourselves! Come join us on Sunday (10am) at Monkey Wrench Brewing and discover more about how God has uniquely designed you like no one else!

HOMEWORK (for Sunday, May 15): You'll want to complete the Heart and Abilities assessments (via hard copy or online link). If you need to catch up from last week, you may also want to complete the Spiritual Gifts assessment.

Quote of the Week

“If you have money, power, and status today, it is due to the century and place in which you were born, to your talents and capacities and health, none of which you earned. In short, all your resources are in the end the gift of God.” - Tim Keller

Verse of the Week

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

- 1 Peter 4:8-10

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

Need a daily Bible reading plan? Drue's favorite is the Bible in One Year APP

Good News Church GA is dreaming big and taking action! This is just the beginning, but we can't do it without financial support. Good News Church GA is a 501(c)3 non-profit, so all contributions are tax deductible. If you'd like to support what God is doing through this brand new church, you can give online here.

If you'd like to request prayer and/or talk or meet with either of the pastors (Drue or Ray) and/or their spouses for questions and/or conversation about faith, spiritual journey, doubts, fears, prayer needs, etc., we'd love to connect with you. For prayer requests and/or to connect with a pastor, click here

Grateful for you!
