Good News Family & Friends,

If you've not yet had the opportunity to serve lunch with us at the Good News at Noon homeless shelter and ministry, come join us! It's a fantastic family-friendly serving opportunity, a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors, and is a fun time together with other friends from church.

As we head into the week of Thanksgiving, we thought it would also be a great time to take Communion together to remember, celebrate, and express gratitude for all that we have in Christ (namely eternal life, inexpressible joy, hope for a future, comfort in affliction, purpose for living, peace that surpasses all understanding, undeserved grace, and unconditional love, to name a few).

The heart of Jesus' intention for Communion is not that it be a time for the family of God to reflect and remember Him. When He gave the disciples the bread and the wine, He told them to take, eat, and drink, "in remembrance of Me." Those instructions are for us, too.

Communion is a great time to take a deep breath, be refreshed in God's goodness, and refocus our hearts on Jesus. As we prepare for Communion this Sunday, I want to encourage us all to take a few minutes this week to remember the difference Jesus has made (or is making) in our lives. Questions for reflection... How did you first encounter Jesus? Who introduced you? What difference has being in relationship with Jesus made in your life? What are you most grateful for? What are you hopeful for?

And if you're still exploring faith and Jesus, that's great, too! Questions for reflection may include... Why is it that you're interested in Jesus? What are you hoping He can provide? What's holding you back from giving yourself in relationship with Him?

Whatever your background, we're expecting this to be a great experience of Communion and hope you'll join us! For some helpful info that I've written to help us better understand Communion, click here.

VISION & VALUES

The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.

MISSION

The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
