Holy Week 2019
From the Parish Administrator
Sally LeBaron
Final Lent Countdown

Soooo….how did your Lent go? Are you feeling lighter as the weight of what we think is holding us down is lifted in the spirit of contrition and thoughtful practice? I unexpectedly found the Lenten Meditations produced by our very own Episcopal Relief and Development to be of great inspiration this year. Every day I was given something contemplative to think about, a few breaths to slow down and remind myself that it’s not all about the sugar.

Speaking of giving up sugar ...

Easter Lilies and Flower Baskets
Chapel at Easter
On the morning of April 20 at 8:00am, our Altar Guild will be arranging the beautiful window baskets that adorn our church on Easter morning. You can help by bringing flower and greens cuttings from your garden that morning to help fill the baskets!

Please bring your cuttings to the Reinhart Hall entrance at the back (North side) of the church and our grateful Altar Guild will do the rest!
You can also make a donation toward Easter lilies and flowers, as a remembrance to honor a loved one, or to give thanks for the blessings in your life. Forms will be available in Sunday bulletins, or you can download one here.

Please include it with your check (put "Easter Flowers" in the memo line) and place in the offering basket, in the Parish Administrator mailbox in the counting room, or mail to the Parish office. These remembrances and thanksgivings will be listed in the Easter bulletins.
Easter Morning

Thoughts for Holy Week

"No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown."
- William Penn (1644-1718)

"God loves each of us as though there were only one of us."
- St. Augustine (354-430)

"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime."
- Martin Luther (1438-1546)

The Collect for Palm Sunday
Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
