4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW
Thursday, July 4 | 7:30p–10:00p, the Hill
Join us at the Hill at 7:30p for our annual 4th of July fireworks show and celebration! The evening will be full of fun and fellowship with live music, lawn games, face painting, and Mom and Pop’s Frozen Pops will be there with 150 free popsicles for those who register at the welcome table. BYOB: bring your own beverage, blanket, and bug spray.

MUSIC ON THE HILL: WOLF VAN ELFMAND

Join us at the Hill for our June installment of Music on the Hill! Tonight we feature Wolf van Elfmand, currently of New York City. Wolf van Elfmand is back on the grid, having released his honky tonk flavored album, Don’t Call It Country, on March 1, 2024. Inspired by the tongue-in-cheek stylings of writers like Roger Miller, Don’t Call It Country takes listeners on a satirical stroll through Wolf’s mind. Its robust, live sound consists of honest vocals, twangy guitars, and lyrical hooks that stay with you well beyond your first listen. There are classic components akin to Nashville’s golden era of recording, but Wolf’s modern approach powerfully situates them in our present time. $10 suggested donation, BYOB. Our annual Shepherd & Edge Camp (VBS) would not be possible without the generous support of over 100 adult and youth volunteers. Your passion for children's ministry at Good Shepherd is shaping the faith life of over 150 campers aged 3 years - 5th grade. SUMMER SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY
Sundays through August 18 | 9:15a–10:00a

The Summer Sunday Bible Study will connect the Old and New Testaments, meeting on Sunday mornings beginning this Sunday. Three words in the Book of Genesis, "And God said..." set the entire Judeo-Christian story in motion. The Old Testament is the "operating system" for the New Testament. Without the calling of Israel, the story of Jesus has no context. Without the Law and the Prophets, the New Testament has no foundation in which to build the Church. We will read a variety of biblical texts, from Abraham and Moses and the Prophets to the Gospels and St. Paul, and discover how often the Scriptures reveal "the good news of the gospel." WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB

Women's Book Club is an intergenerational group that meets in the reflection room on the Windsor campus (with online participation option) at 5:00p on the second Tuesday of each month. We meet for lively conversation while discussing books through the lens of a shared spiritual journey. In July we will read and reflect on Table for Two, Amor Towles. MEN'S BIBLE STUDY
Mondays through August 26 | 6:30p–8:00p
Windsor, Vestry Room
In the New Testament, we have only one account of the early church, The Acts of the Apostles. This summer, the Men's Bible Study will study this very relevant story, beginning with the Day of Pentecost and moving into the foundations of Christian world missions. Initially, we will concentrate on the ministry in Jerusalem (chapters 1-5) and the missionary movements beyond Jerusalem (chapters 6-12). We invite all the men in the parish to join us! SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED
Our Sunday morning ministries to the children and youth at Good Shepherd are only possible because of the dedication and care of faithful volunteers. Our teaching teams work together to lead Godly Play (3 years-2nd grade), Edge Bible Study (3rd-5th grades), and Middle + High School Bible Study (6th-12th grades) on a regular rotation serving once every 6 weeks. We are looking to add faithful and caring adults of all ages to our fantastic team of teachers for Fall of 2024. If you might be called to serve in this way, let us know by filling out this form!

TRINITY STREETS
Sunday, July 7 | 2:00p–4:30p, offsite
At Trinity Streets, we serve meals for 40-65 people coming in off the streets of downtown Austin on Sunday afternoons. Volunteers serve by preparing and serving meals, hosting a worship service for those coming to Trinity Center, and cleaning the kitchen afterwards. Please register here by Saturday, July 6 to join.

MOBILE LOAVES & FISHES:
FOOD TRUCK PREP + RUNS
Thursday, July 18, offsite
Join Good Shepherd’s Team 102 for the Mobile Loaves & Fishes Food Truck prep and run. Sign up to prepare sandwiches and load the truck from 4:00p–5:00p at the Mobile Loaves and Fishes Commissary (at St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church). You may also sign up for the truck run from 5:00p–7:00p, where you’ll take food to several locations around Austin. All volunteers are welcome! Please register here by Wednesday, July 17 to join.

COMMUNITY FIRST! VILLAGE: MOVE-INS
Saturday, July 20 | 9:00a, offsite
Community First! Village (CF!V) is a 51-acre community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness. Come be a part of the Spirit at work in our community. We will meet at Community First! Village at the Front Porch building across from the large parking lot on the first right turn after you come into the community and we will be guided to one of the new homes to clean and furnish for unhoused neighbors. This is a wonderful opportunity for families with teens to serve together. All volunteers are welcome. Please register here by Friday, July 19 to join.
