GCS Students Find Friends & Mentors in Reading Tutors
HELPS Program Showing Early Success
Every GCS student participating in the Helping Early Learners with Practice Strategies program showed growth on Middle of Year assessments, and many also found inspiration in their tutors.
Say Yes to Sucess
Harvard sounds very, very far away for a lot of high school students. It certainly did for Betty Lulseged. “I didn’t want to apply, because I thought there was no way.  I thought I was throwing away my application fee.” With a little encouragement from dad, the Northwest Guilford student applied to Harvard and was accepted in Spring of 2016. “It completely blew my mind,” she remembers.
2015-19 Impact
Since 2016 Say Yes Guilford has awarded GCS graduates more than $8.6 million, and leveraged about $11.4 million through our private college compact for a total impact of over $20 million.
Only four schools remain! Say Yes Guilford’s Scholarship Registration Competition enters the Final Four: The STEM Early College at NC A&T vs High Point Central and Dudley vs. Penn-Griffin School for the Arts.
The winning school will receive a $1000 donation to the counseling department and bragging rights for the year.
