We will be the body of Christ in our Community by Connecting with God, Growing in Discipleship, and Serving the World.

Next Sermon for October 29th

Dear Oak Grove Family,

We are in the second week of our sermon series 7 Things 4 Kids, on Sunday we focused on the second way, knowing them personally, that we can be influencers in a child’s life. One of the strengths of Oak Grove is the strong inter-generational relationships. These relationships make a difference in lives of our children and youth and their families – especially their faith journey. Fuller Youth Institute research found that when children and youth have five adults, in addition to their parents, investing time and influence into them they are much more likely to carry their faith into adulthood.

This week we are praying for a child who needs spiritual direction. Who is a child in your family, friend group, neighborhood, or here at Oak Grove who you can be praying for?

I give thanks to God for the influencers at Oak Grove and for the adults who invested in my faith journey when I was a child. As we look to Oak Grove’s future may we continue to be influencers for the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Holy Lands Trip Update

We continue to hold Israel and Gaza in prayer as war and violence unfold in the region. I wanted to take a moment to officially state that I will not be moving forward with traveling to the Holy Lands in February 2024. My current intent is to reschedule for spring 2025, however I am waiting to see how the situation unfolds to make official plans.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Peace & Blessings,

Pastor Amanda

Hello, Dear Church -

We are continuing to develop and grow our young adult ministry here at Oak Grove, for those who are post high school to forty. In that spirit, we are launching a Sunday School class headed up by a young adult favorite, Mary Knight! We will begin this class on November 5th in room 234!

The O. G.’s will continue to meet every other Tuesday night, with November dates being 11/14 and 11/28. We will continue meeting in The Lounge upstairs from 6:30-8pm, with childcare provided.

As always, if you have any questions or ideas please let me know! I am so grateful for the church’s investment in our young adults. Thanks be to God for this budding ministry!.

Blessings,

Pastor Britney

A huge shout out to the Worship Ministry Team and the Trustees as they prepare Oak Grove’s Freedom Rocks! gathering space. We look forward to moving the prayer rocks created during the Prayer Rocks sermon series to our new gathering space on Sunday, November 12 after 11am worship. If you haven’t made a prayer rock, it isn’t too late – the prayer rocks and the supplies to make them will remain out until November 12th.
