Mission Statement

We will be the body of Christ in our Community by Connecting with God, Growing in Discipleship, and Serving the World.

Dear Church -

Thank you for all your kind feedback about this Sunday's sermon. It's so important to bring our whole selves to God in prayer, feelings included. I'm including the Feelings Wheel by Dr. Gloria Wilcox and how to pray the Feelings Wheel. I'm excited to share this tool with y'all! Remember that there is no wrong way to pray 🙂

With Blessings & Grace,

Pastor Britney

Thank you to the youth & leadership that came out to support our two exciting events last week.

We had a great group of youth and chaperones show up for youth night at Greenbrier Family Skating! There was a lot of pizza and lots of fun! We enjoyed hanging out with youth groups from New Creation and Deep Creek UMC.

We also enjoyed fun and games, worship and dinner with youth and youth leaders at Virginia Wesleyan University. Great group to spend the afternoon and evening with and it was wonderful to be with other youth groups for the event! (Missed a few of our youth who were not able to join us that evening.)

Middle School - "IGNITE" @ 9:45 am - "Ignite" will start the Jesus Quiz (a timed crash course on the Ministry of Jesus). The Youth will compete against one another with 40 questions (to represent Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness) to earn points on the Ignite Leaderboard.

Youth should bring their cell phones or other electronic devices to help access the "Google machine" for assistance. Sorry, Leaders...No points for you this time. But, Leaders will still play an important role - Phone a Friend (without use of your phone) and 50/50.

Who wants to take over the Ignite Leaderboard and set themselves up nicely heading towards the end of the school year?

High School - "Cross Trainers" @ 9:45 am - Cross Trainers will continue their study on the Book of James. Noah & Roger leading.

Sunday Night Small Group at 5:30  - Evening Small group will be led by Roger & Noah. Don't miss the "Pasta Bar" dinner this Sunday, with lots of choices, plus a fancy dessert. "Buon Appetito!" Bring your Amici!!!

Mission Trip - Be on the lookout for the Mission Trip Registration forms coming out soon - Hold the trip dates of June 23 - June 29th!

Volunteer to Provide Food Items for Youth - Below is a link to a Signup Genius of food items needed for Youth Small Group Dinners. If you are able to volunteer to provide any of the items, you can conveniently drop them off in the Youth Lounge on Sunday mornings during worship times. Thank you in advance for your help, support and generosity!

Sunday Feb 4th - Pasta Bar

CAST Dinner - Save the date! The Youth group is signed up to handle preparing & serving the CAST(Chesapeake Area Shelter Team) dinners on Sunday March 3rd. Please plan to serve and be a light to our homeless population right here in our area.
