Good News in Election Results
KSLA is pleased to announce that each candidate supported by the Kentucky Senior Living Association Political Action Committee (KALPAC) was elected. This is great news for the senior living industry in Kentucky! Those candidates, who are a mix of Republicans and Democrats, include the following:

  • Jason Nemes - Kentucky State Representative - District 33
  • Julie Raque Adams - Kentucky State Senator - District 36 & Chair of the Senate Health & Welfare Committee
  • Dr. Ralph Alvarado - Kentucky State Senator - District 28 & Vice-Chair of the Senate Health & Welfare Committee
  • Kim Moser - Kentucky State Representative - District 64 & Member of the House Health & Welfare Committee
  • Nima Kulkarni - Kentucky State Representative - District 40
  • Ernie Harris - Kentucky State Senator - District 26

The other piece of good news we'd like to share is that KSLA has raised $2,850 for KALPAC so far this year. Argentum's Silver PAC will match match this amount in two installments: $2,000 now and $850 in January 2019.
Your Response is Needed!
The KSLA Education and Conference Planning committee had its first meeting on Thursday, November 8. And while the 2019 KSLA Conference & Exhibition isn’t until May 15-16, 2019 (save the date!), our work starts NOW to insure that next year’s conference is the best yet!

The purpose of last week’s meeting was four-fold:

  • To identify a theme for the KSLA 2019 Conference & Exhibition
  • To identify potential keynote speakers for the Conference
  • To decide on education session offerings for the Conference
  • To discuss Workshop offerings for all of 2019

The first thing the committee wants to share with you is that our theme for next year’s conference is “Collaboration: A Portrait of Success.” The four main areas of focus will be leadership, sales & marketing, care, and dementia.

A few weeks ago, we asked for your topic and presenter suggestions for the education sessions that will be offered at next year’s conference. We received some really great suggestions – so many that we can’t include them all! So, in the spirit of collaboration (see what we did there?), we’re asking for your input.

Conference participants will be able to attend four of the eight education session being offered at next year’s conference as part of their conference experience. We’ve compiled a list of all the topics submitted by our members. If you haven't done so already, please select your top eight choices.

Click Here to cast your votes – we promise, it’ll take less than five minutes!

Submissions are due by Friday, December 14, 2018.

Many thanks for your time and for providing this valuable feedback. We’re excited to see each of you in May and make this the best Conference yet!
