Hello CdK Friends & Visionaries,

Water purification is very important for the health of residents, especially in remote villages. While CdK focusses on education, we are frequently able to help in other ways. Our earthquake relief trip in 2017 is one example.

Another example is thanks to a California donor who gifted us with 10 water purification systems to dispense. In this photo, the brother of our engineering student Eraclio, is demonstrating the use of one of them. Located in an isolated mountain jungle village of 15 houses, Cuasimulco has no roads, thus no cars. Hiking up to the town is a journey to anther world, and we are honored to assist these warm people in improving their health.

Student News

We are thrilled to announce that we now have 4 NEW students in our program. One is in high school, and the other three are freshmen in schools of higher learning. Thanks to the support of CdK, these three are able to achieve a higher educational level than anyone in their families.

Education will help them break cycles of poverty caused by the lack of education, and will ensure that they have their own careers. Part of their education is to learn about their native cultures and historical achievements dating back several thousand years. We are honored to take them on group tours of local archaeological sites, and towns specializing in the arts.

Planning Your Year-End Donation

At this time of year many of us are planning for the holidays, travel, shopping, dinners, and special gifts for loved ones. As you prepare on your year-end planning, I kindly encourage you to add one additional item to your list of things to do……make a year-end donation to Casa de Kids.

All your donations to Casa de Kids are tax deductible and our students will be supported in a way that changes their future. The gift will impact them in a very positive way, and be a win-win for all! As you consider your year-end tax deductible donation, we are happy to share that Casa de Kids recently implemented steps to accept donations in the form of stock through a brokerage firm. Keep in mind that you avoid paying capital gains tax on donated stock.

Donations can be made securely online with a credit card at our website or a check can be mailed to our post office box (located at the bottom of this email). Tax deductible receipts are provided for all donations.

Unfortunately, the economic needs that so many of our students experienced prior to Covid-19 are continuing and magnified as a result of the pandemic. We thank you for your assistance.
