Network of Fun: We now have 47 Social Circus Teams across Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia! Each team has been equipped with diverse skills, trained in pedagogy, and guided to improve continuously. These teams bring fun and joy to countless children while developing their unique identities, including social media presence, logos, and more.
Afghanistan: With 38 Social Circus Teams in 17 provinces, including 14 led by women, we are making a happier Afghanistan. Local ownership, trust in children and youth, and their resilience are the key to success under the current challenging circumstances. The team leaders, especially the women have been inspired by each other in the regional and national juggling championships and festivals. They were all surprised by their achievements of 12 festival events for girls and women and 11 public festival events for the boys. One of the female team leaders named this a heroic and historic act of setting new standards for all the children in the country.
Ethiopia: With support from MMCC and our German partners at Dignity for Children, our three teams in Ethiopia blossomed once again this summer. They delivered an amazing performance during a grand event at the Chencha stadium, captivating hundreds of spectators with a stunning joint performance by all three social circus teams.
Bangladesh: In Bangladesh, we now have six Social Circus Teams—three in Rohingya refugee camps and three in host communities. These teams are growing steadily, learning from their Afghan counterparts, and showing great progress. Next month, we’ll visit them in person and host "Clowns Without Borders" volunteer team for two weeks of performances and workshops, spreading even more joy among the children.
