The Rally Day Festival on September 7 will feature fun, food, and fellowship (and more!) for everyone in the parish. Look for fun activities like our Great Cookie Bake-Off and Sale, Used Book Sale, and the Dunking Booth!
Admission to Rally Day is free, but we hope that everyone will bring an item (or two!) for the Little Free Pantry.
Remember to bring…
- Supplies for the Little Free Pantry (see the Suggested Supplies here.)
- Cash or your credit card so you can
- Buy delicious homemade cookies
- Buy gently used books
- Take a chance at dunking one of our parish favorites!
All proceeds from Rally Day sales and dunks will go to support the Beyond Our Doors Little Free Pantry, a vital parish outreach ministry! Thank you for your generous support!
Can you contribute homemade cookies for the Cookie Bake-Off & Sale? Please contact Christie Barbee (919.345.1494) or Jean Knepley (586.216.2369).
Please visit our website for more information and ways to get involved, or contact David Baggett (919.831.2018).

Cheshire House Lunches
Good Shepherd is signed up to feed the Cheshire House group (Episcopal Campus Ministry at NCSU) on a few Sundays this Fall Semester. We are responsible for providing a meal for 15-20 people, following their Sunday worship service. Please provide a vegetarian option. We are not aware of any other dietary restrictions at this time. In addition to the meal, please include a bag of fruit and a dessert. No drinks or paper products are needed. Food must arrive between 11am-12pm. I listed two slots per Sunday in case you would like to buddy up. However, if you want to cover a whole Sunday just select both slots.
Questions? Email Karen Boyne . Thank you!!

Back to School Time!
On Sunday, August 24th, we celebrated the start of the new academic year with our annual Blessing of the Backpacks during the 10:15 a.m. worship service.
As students in the Wake County Public School System prepared for their first day of school on Monday, August 25th, a few of our young members came to the front of the church with their backpacks.
It was a meaningful time as our community offered a special blessing for them, and for all students and teachers, as they begin this new school year.

Tips for recycling plastic bottles:
- Keep the lid on empty bottles! Plastic caps are too small to be recycled on their own.
- Crush the air out of your plastic bottles, put the cap back on and then recycle.
- Reducing the amount of air in plastic bottles helps you fit more into your blue recycling cart.
- Don’t put your recyclables in a plastic bag. Plastic bags are not recyclable
