Lent 2025 at Good Shepherd
Adult Formation in Lent
On each of the six Sundays in Lent, Susan Lewellen will offer a series of classes on Contemplative Prayer. During each session, Susan will discuss the history, meaning, and benefits of this ancient practice as well as leading prayer sessions. The first class will be held in the Ennis Parlor at 9:00am on March 9th. All are welcome to attend. Contact Susan Lewellan at susanlewellen@icloud.com for more information.
Lenten Suppers
On Thursday evenings in Lent, the Church of the Good Shepherd will host a series of potluck suppers in Shepherd's Hall. Join us for food, fellowship, and an opportunity to reflect on our shared journey through this Holy Season. These gatherings will be held on March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3, and April 10. Mark your calendars.
Stations of the Cross
On Fridays in Lent, Richard Netherby will once again be leading walking meditations through the Stations of the Cross. All those interested in deepening their experience of this Holy season are invited to join him in the sanctuary at noon each week for prayer and the silent contemplation of the Passion. These meditative walks will begin on March 7.

Pancake Supper- March 4
The Great Fast of Lent is almost upon us. Before we take the plunge, however, let's enjoy one last night of indulgence. The annual EYC Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held on March 4th from 6-7:30pm. Join us in Shepherd's Hall for a night of music, fellowship, and enough pancakes and bacon to keep you satisfied for forty long days. Admission is free but all donations go to support the Episcopal Youth Community. Games and activities for kids will be provided. Come on down and help us put the "gras" back in Mardi Gras.

Using documentary resources from both the parish and diocesan archives, Lynn will chronicle the launch of several early physical sites and programs to serve the residents of Raleigh and beyond. Handouts with chronologies and online “history” links will be provided each Sunday. At the final session on March 2, Lynn will offer a guided tour of the main Diocesan Archives collection currently housed on the second floor of our Parish Life Center, in a lease arrangement with Good Shepherd. Join us!

Who better to have a ladder long enough to reach our nave spotlights than a roofing company!? Our own Chas Sharp, a manager at Baker Roofing, not only secured a 40 ft ladder but donned his safety gear and took the climb to the buttress-mounted spotlights to refocus them. Chas was joined by his coworker, Matt Green. We so appreciate these gentlemen resolving a problem that had been persisting for years. Thank you, Chas and Matt! | | |

Church Mouse - Volunteers Needed
The Church Mouse Program is a program of volunteers who reach out to young adult members of our parish in their first year away from home (college, military, etc). Each volunteer joins a team of CGS members and our goal is that each volunteer is in charge of one care package over the course of a year. This helps to keep our young people connected to the Good Shepherd community and know that we are cheering for them and praying for them as they go out on their own for the first time. Interested in helping? Contact: Karen Boyne
