Pancake Supper- March 4
The Great Fast of Lent is almost upon us. Before we take the plunge, however, let's enjoy one last night of indulgence. The annual EYC Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held on March 4th from 6-7:30pm.
Join us in Shepherd's Hall for a night of music, fellowship, and enough pancakes and bacon to keep you satisfied for forty long days. Admission is free but all donations go to support the Episcopal Youth Community. Games and activities for kids will be provided. Come on down and help us put the "gras" back in Mardi Gras.

Volunteers Needed for March 9 at the Cheshire House
The Cheshire House is the Episcopal Campus ministry at NCSU. We partner with other local Episcopal churches to provide lunches to their staff and students (about 15 people). Good Shepherd provides lunch one Sunday each month. We are hoping to recruit a few more volunteers to help out on March 9! Please sign up here if you are able to help! If you are unable to help on March 9, but interested in helping this ministry in the future, please contact: Karen Boyne

Lent 2025 at Good Shepherd
Adult Formation in Lent
On each of the six Sundays in Lent, Susan Lewellen will offer a series of classes on Contemplative Prayer. During each session, Susan will discuss the history, meaning, and benefits of this ancient practice as well as leading prayer sessions. The first class will be held in the Ennis Parlor at 9:00am on March 9th. All are welcome to attend. Contact Susan Lewellan at susanlewellen@icloud.com for more information.
Lenten Suppers
On Thursday evenings in Lent, the Church of the Good Shepherd will host a series of potluck suppers in Shepherd's Hall. Join us for food, fellowship, and an opportunity to reflect on our shared journey through this Holy Season. These gatherings will be held on March 13, March 20, March 27, April 3, and April 10. Mark your calendars.
Stations of the Cross
On Fridays in Lent, Richard Netherby will once again be leading walking meditations through the Stations of the Cross. All those interested in deepening their experience of this Holy season are invited to join him in the sanctuary at noon each week for prayer and the silent contemplation of the Passion. These meditative walks will begin on March 7.

"Something about the ocean,
and I'm lost in love again."
Our first EYC Winter Retreat, held at the Trinity Center from February 14-16, is in the books and I think everyone who attended would agree that it was a tremendous success.
So many great memories: bocce ball on the beach, Hamilton sing-alongs, the "Kidnapper," Kumja, side quests, Juliet's crazy ghost stories, morning devotionals on the dock, Battle Toes, candy salad, and of course, the blanket that gives the divine mystery a shape.
This trip was tons of fun while also being deeply spiritual and a intense bonding experience for our community. I think it will have a powerful effect on the direction of our youth program in the future.
I want to thank Ed Sharp and Tristin Carpenter for serving as our brave chaperones. I really enjoyed sharing this experience with you and look forward to having you join us again. I also want to thank all the young people who risked trying something new. You were endlessly cheerful and always game for everything I threw at you. I was especially moved by how much you clearly care for one another. You all make this job a real joy.
See you down the road Trinity Center. I think it safe to say that we'll be back.
Your friend in Christ,
Justin+
