The Rally Day Festival on September 7 will feature fun, food, and fellowship (and more!) for everyone in the parish.


Admission to Rally Day is free, but we hope that everyone will bring an item (or two!) for the Little Free Pantry.

What's a festival without fun festive food? Here's the menu: fresh off the grill hot dogs & hamburgers (yes, and veggie burgers and veggie sandwiches too) + the fixings! And you can look forward to chips, snow cones, Howling Cow ice cream, and cool beverages. We also have kids favorites including chicken fingers. And get this: absolutely no guilt if you're eating at a church function, so enjoy!

2025 Rally Day Dunking Booth Dunkees!

Check out these parish luminaries who have volunteered (or been pushed) to take a seat in the dunking booth this year to support Good Shepherd’s Little Free Pantry, a vital parish outreach ministry. Bring your cash and credit card—3 balls for $5 or a guaranteed dunk for $20!


  • Rev. Imogen is returning to the Dunking Booth for her 3rd go-round! She says, “We’ve assembled an all-star cast of CGS enthusiasts ready to get wet. Now all that’s left is for you to bring your best throws so that we can make Rally Day 2025 a slam dunk for Outreach!”


  • Callin Fee, George Hill, and Ryan Fee are issuing a challenge to all EYC’ers and acolytes: “dunk us if you can!”


  • Esther Hall, the queen of stewardship, says… “I really hope you have bad aim.”


  • Harry Johnson is making his initial splash in the Dunking Booth this year, and he’s challenging parents, bikers, and King Herod fans!

Adult Formation Resumes Next Sunday 9/14 at 9 AM


  • “Come and See What God is Doing!” (Room 323) On September 14 and 21, you are invited to “Come and See What God is Doing” at Good Shepherd, around the Diocese of North Carolina, and throughout the wider Episcopal Church.* On September 14th Rev. Imogen, along with class coordinator Lynn Hoke, will start off the fall with a spotlight on Godly inspiration in our midst. Join us to find out more about how God is at work among us individually and in our various parish groups and how our shared giving shapes and strengthens our life together.  


  • Bible Study--The Gospel of Matthew (Room 303) Debbie Moyer will lead this class as they resume their study of Matthew.

Parents, Please Make Note!


  • Kid’s Sunday School (4 yo-5th grade) resumes next Sunday at 9 AM.
  • EYC (for youth 6th-12th grades) resumes next Sunday at 5:30 PM.


Cheshire House Lunches


Good Shepherd is signed up to feed the Cheshire House group (Episcopal Campus Ministry at NCSU) on a few Sundays this Fall Semester. We are responsible for providing a meal for 15-20 people, following their Sunday worship service. Please provide a vegetarian option. We are not aware of any other dietary restrictions at this time.  In addition to the meal, please include a bag of fruit and a dessert. No drinks or paper products are needed. Food must arrive between 11am-12pm. I listed two slots per Sunday in case you would like to buddy up. However, if you want to cover a whole Sunday just select both slots.  Questions? Email Karen Boyne . Thank you!

Monthly Men’s Fellowship Lunch – September 11

Men’s Fellowship Lunches take place on the SECOND THURSDAY of each month at 12 NOON at High Park Grill (625 E. Whitaker Mill Road). Come enjoy lively fellowship and a reasonably priced meal--no reservation is required and everyone is welcome! Contact: Jack Boyne (919.832.3641)
