Sheep
In this weekend's passage from John 10 Jesus says, "I am the good shepherd..."  If He is the shepherd that makes us sheep.  Though it is a beautiful picture of Christ to see Him as a Shepherd, it is not a very flattering picture of us.  Sheep are not very smart.  The emphasis in the passage, however, is not on our stupidity but rather on Christ's love for His sheep.  
The one thing that sheep do know pretty well is the sound of their shepherd's voice.  They spend so much time with the shepherd and they hear His voice over and over throughout their days that they immediately respond to His call. You may not feel like you know much or have much to offer in this life but if you know the sound of your shepherd's voice you know all you need to know to live life to it's fullest.  Start listening for His voice, practice every day (prayer, reading the Bible) and soon you will begin to immediately recognize His voice.  See you Sunday!

MEMBER'S CLASS: 
Beginning THIS Sunday, February 28 we will hold our first ever New Member's Class from 3-5 pm. The class will be 2 sessions concluding the next week March 6 from 3-5 pm.  Reply to this e-mail to sign up or use the response card in church.
THIS SUNDAY:
February 28, we will have the opportunity to celebrate the Lord's Supper. Use this week to prepare your heart.  Preparing your heart means we humbly seek God's grace for our sin and brokenness.  It does not mean we must be perfect to come to the table.  It means we come as people hungry for God's forgiveness and grace. If you need help understanding the Lord's Supper feel free to contact Pastor Kris ( kris@sunlightcc.org) and then come with joy as we celebrate God's love for us!

BOOK CLUB: All are welcome! For March 20, we are reading "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. This book is being provided by the library book club program. For April 17, we will be reading "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr and "The Light in the Ruins" by Chris Bohjalian for our May 15 meeting. Talk to Jean Bosman or Kim Vanderlaan if you need a copy of the current book or have any other questions.
