Superintendent's Welcome Message
Welcome back to school in its 2020-2021 school year form. Distance learning, masks, social distancing, quarantines, this is not the new normal. It is not normal at all, but it is what we need to do.

In the same way as when we stop when red lights flash on a school bus, or the crossing guard says stop, or we check-in all visitors to schools, we protect our children. This, we must do. While we may not all agree on the best path, we certainly can agree that protecting our children is not negotiable. We also know that educating our children is not negotiable, and that we will do.

2020 Retiree Spotlights
Happy Retirement!

We want to thank the following JUSD Retirees for their years of dedication, hard work, and service to staff, families, and most importantly, our students.

2020 Employees of the Year
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

The wonderful teachers and support staff in Jurupa Unified are the foundation from which the strength of the district is built. During the 2019-2020 school year, sixty-one employees were selected to represent the best of the best, and nine were nominated to move on to the county level.

2020 Graduations
Graduation looked different this year.

Instead of rows of graduating seniors and bleachers filled with proud friends and family, this year's celebrations were viewed through a computer screen and from the family car. Ceremonies were held during a time of uncertainty, isolation, and hardship the likes of which many in our community had never faced before.

And yet, though the COVID-19 Pandemic dramatically transformed the method of our celebrations, it did not prevent parents, families, teachers, staff, and administrators from coming together (virtually and socially distanced, of course) to honor the achievements of our students and salute the exciting times that lie ahead.

Combating COVID-19
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” - Nobel Prize Winner, Marie Curie.

As Jurupa Unified works to understand the impact and magnitude of the COVID-19 pandemic, a partnership with Borrego Health brings repose to many who fear they are ill.

In communion with JUSD, Borrego Health provides free COVID-19 screening and testing. You do not have to exhibit symptoms, have insurance, or wait in long lines. The screening process takes place in your own vehicle and you receive a phone call with your results within 7-10 business days.
