"Superhero Sunday"

Rev. Carol Strecker Speaking

Who’s your favorite superhero? April 28 is “National Superhero Day” and it was created by employees at Marvel to honor those who serve and protect and resist evil in the pages of comic books and on the big screen. We all have heroes in our lives - some of them are more famous than others. No matter who your favorite hero is, honoring the real and fictional people that inspire us is something to celebrate. Capes are optional!

Creativity Workshop

George Bernard Shaw said, "You use a glass mirror to see your face. You use works of art to see your soul." Come and celebrate the creative arts at this hands-on workshop. Write haiku, arrange flowers, collage, or paint "message rocks". Answer that creative impulse! Those of us joining the service remotely can use the time to write or work on a creative project at home.

To attend the Sunday service via Zoom,

please go to the Northshore Church website nsuu.org

The Church Council

The Church Council is a standing committee of the NSUU Board. The Council is comprised of the chairpersons of each church committee and is facilitated by the Board Vice Chairperson.

The Council meets via zoom on the third Monday of the month at 7PM

Council members report to each other regarding the activities of their committees as well as ideas for future activities. This gives the Council the opportunity to collaborate and coordinate with each other.

In addition, the Council functions as a link to the Board as the Board deals with policy issues, which the Council may be called upon to implement. Conversely, the Council raises concerns expressed by the Council to the Board. The Council’s main function is to insure transparency, coordination and good communication.

Meetings are open to all.

Susan A. Haas

Vice-Chairperson

The Caring Team is asking for volunteers to add to our current group who help in providing transportation to medical appointments and help in delivering meals to individuals at our church who may need these services. Because we already have folks on the team and others who have offered to help, there won't be frequent requests to assist but rather just to be available occasionally. Please contact Barb Reeder at barabaraellenroth@gmail.com if you're interested in helping out.

TRANS INCLUSION VIDEO SERIES

Our video series has concluded but our work has not. We had a great turn-out and many enthusiastic discussions and ideas emerged as to how we can all make our already Welcoming Church even more welcoming. We look forward to having more discussions and participation as we continue our Welcoming Renewal Program.
